While I always say that you can imagine the characters in my fics as any gender/sexuality that you want, I think it's pretty obvious that I am headcanoning them as lesbians when I write them. This should be obvious, but I am in no way implying that men are (or can be) lesbians. I headcanon all of these characters as non-men who all have different relationships with gender and sex, and it's important to how I characterize them individually and as a throuple.

I also want to note that while they may engage in BD/SM sex now and then, they don't fully live a BD/SM lifestyle; their relationships aren't inherently dom/sub! Accessible image text and a really quick glossary of terms is below each cut!

Terminology

These definitions are very quick and casual; each of these terms could be (and have been!) expanded on exponentially, but will be significantly shortened for the sake of keeping things brief.

Top: A person who enjoys "giving" during sex. Not to be confused with the BD/SM role of a Dominant.
Bottom: A person who prefers to "receive" during sex. Not to be confused with the BD/SM role of a Submissive.
Vers: A person who is open to topping and bottoming interchangeably. Not to be confused with the BD/SM role of a Switch.
Tbutch: A butch lesbian on testosterone.
Post-op: An abbreviation for someone who had top surgery; in this case, removal of breast tissue to achieve a flatter chest.
Phalloplasty: An operation that involves the construction of a penis from genital tissue.
Non-op: A phrase used to describe someone who has not received top surgery and retains their natural breast tissue.
Tdick: Short for testosterone dick, it describes the enlargement of the clitoral tissue to closer resemble a penis, a side effect of testosterone hormone therapy.
Stone: A sexual (and sometimes tied in with gender) identity/preference. Stones do not like to receive or bottom during sex, and are particular about how and where they are touched. This vastly varies from stone to stone, but generally these preferences are rigid and not up for debate.
"Melted" Stone: Very rarely, under circumstances decided entirely/exclusively by the stone, a stone will "melt", changing their rigid preferences. This could be permanent, or temporary, and it varies from stone to stone. Some stones never melt, others do sometimes, then never again. It all depends! Those partnering with stones should never expect or demand this from them, and should consider their stone preferences as solid as... stone!

Leon Kennedy

Leon is very adaptable and goes with the flow. He is almost exclusively sexually satisfied by pleasing his partners. He is typically a service top with Wesker, but bottoms with Ada. He respects that Wesker and Ada's relationship with sex is more complex than his own, and is eager to offer himself however they "require" of him. Leon may disagree with how Ada and Wesker conduct themselves professionally, but never judges or seeks to "change" them sexually. He relies on communication from them and otherwise does as directed, though none of them would necessarily consider him a "true submissive". Leon likes supporting them emotionally as well... if they'll let him!

That being said, he knows when to push and when to back off; Ada and Albert are not ones to be trifled with! They admire his assertiveness and sensitivity despite the laid-back role he may play in the bedroom. Leon cares deeply for Ada and Wesker and is the most emotionally honest of the three of them (and the least sexually experienced). He is romantically and sexually committed to Ada and Wesker equally, and doesn't favor one over the other.

Ada Wong

Ada does not allow anyone to penetrate her, ever. No exceptions! Leon and Wesker do not see her as lesser for it, and it is never called into question or debated. She is never nude (or in general states of undress) around anyone, and is particular about how and where she is touched, having different dynamics with Leon and Wesker respectively. She does not give oral sex and only receives it via a strap-on. Ada and Albert often trade off with taking sexual initiative, but both enjoy it when Leon surprises them with a bit of bite, too!

Ada comes and goes in their throuple as she sees fit, preferring to never "cohabitate" for long! Her "relationship" with Wesker is based upon a mutual guarantee of physical pleasure (and a silent shared understanding/perspective about their identities), whereas her and Leon's is much more romantic. She considers herself romantically committed to Leon, and enjoys the "cat and mouse games" that she and Wesker play... Leon often wonders which of them is suited to which role, but some things are best left a mystery! There are some parts of Ada and Wesker that they may never share with Leon!

Albert Wesker

Wesker allows penetration from Ada and Leon exclusively. His relationship with each of them is unique; Leon's sexual relationship with him is more (to all of their surprises) “emotional", while Ada's is more "pleasurably transactional". Having great respect for Ada as an agent, he is fascinated by her infatuation for Leon, and seeks to see "what all of the fuss is about". He didn't expect to find out first-hand! Wesker also enjoys penetrating, as well as giving and receiving oral sex with use of a strap-on or organically.

Like Ada, he is particular about how and where he is pleased; Leon and Ada know his rituals and preferences expertly, and he theirs. Taking initiative comes naturally to him, but he wouldn’t consider himself exclusively dominant. He may surrender control, but he does not like being a submissive! He’s always preferred he and Ada’s way of coupling (without romantic feelings), so Leon’s desire to know him romantically is very new (and oftentimes difficult!) for him. Wesker claims that Ada and Leon "cause him enough trouble"... he's not seeking out anyone else, romantically or sexually!

A little lighthearted ship meme that I just couldn't resist filling out for Ada, Leon and Wesker! I really enjoy when these are less conventional relationship-esque, because that means I can include Ada! She doesn't really grapple as heavily with her relationships with Leon and Wesker as much as the latter two do, a lot of those "Who confessed their love first?"-kind of prompts don't really suit her (or her relationships with Albert and Leon)! Just like last time, adding a few fun little elaborations just because!

Where we live

None of them are in one place for too long so there really isn't a point in putting anything down here imo. Wesker has a number of safehouses all over the world where they meet up at, Leon goes from apartment to apartment to hotel to hotel as needed for his job, and Ada's whereabouts are always a mystery!

Our hobby

All three of them relish in separate-but-together time, often enjoying quiet time together as they decompress and relax after long hours of taxing work and stressful travel. Their hobbies are all ones that can be done "on the fly", because they're always on the move!

Ada loves reading smart, witty fiction with biting commentary, like Catch 22! She always has a book on her while she's traveling, and she and Wesker frequently bounce book recommendations back and forth between them (and exchange biting criticisms about them)!

Wesker enjoys all kinds of books spanning an infinite number of genres, but he really enjoys relaxing at the end of the day with the newest issue of Architectural Digest; he's a huge interior design buff!

Leon is a secret cinephile... he loves movies, his favorite genre being noirs and old mafia movies (hence his gangster alternate costume in RE4/R)! Knows the ins and outs of hundreds of films and enjoys sharing them with Wesker and Ada... who also enjoy Leon's recommendations!

Favorite food

Leon is easy to please; a thick, juicy steak (medium-rare of course), and a couple of sides are what he looks forward to the most when he's away on missions! He'd be very happy with your run-of-the-mill steakhouse dinner, but after tasting Wesker's cooking, he always wishes it was Chef Albert manning the grill!

Ada doesn't typically enjoy cooking, so she favors recipes that she can whip up in a hurry and can customize to keep things interesting! I think she will always have a soft spot for Chinese-style street food that she (likely) grew up with, like jianbing! She's also a fan of taking some of whatever Wesker's eating, since he always has something good on him, and they travel a lot together!

Wesker's metabolism from the viruses inside of him put him in a near-constant state of hunger; he's always craving red meat and seafood! His favorite is a lox bagel with capers! Simple, delicious, and light, he dresses them in a number of ways to keep things interesting! He always keeps a snack of some kind on him, too... but those aren't always safe from Ada and Leon!

Our dreams

Obviously given the nature of their relationship(s), "settling down" isn't really the goal for any of them, so I elected to just put their ideal travel destinations if they were to ever go on vacation... not likely, given how much they all work, but they can dream (and maybe rendezvous at some point...? Hehe)!

Ada isn't one for big crowds; she does well enough in them due to the nature of her work, but her ideal situation would be to have a nice luxury cruise with limited social interaction, where she has free roam of the spa, upper deck, pool, and restaurants! She doesn't get to travel by boat a lot considering she's typically flying or driving wherever she's sent, so being able to unwind in the middle of nowhere with all of the ideal amenities sounds like a dream!

Leon is, once again, easy to please. He'd just like to go to the beach! Lay in the sand under a nice umbrella, catch some sun, go for a swim... throw in a good sandwich with some quality cold-cuts and he's in heaven! He'd love the pleasure of Ada and/or Wesker's company too, though!

Wesker has safehouses all over the world, but he finds himself yearning to return to the Grecian coastline when he can... he enjoys being out in nature (he used to take walks in the forest around URC!) and the sound and smell of the ocean is a nice change of pace after being in mostly mountainous, desert or industrial terrain.

What we love

What I truly believe that they all love about their dynamic is their dynamic. Keeping one another on their toes, bantering and impressing and outwitting each other... studying how they all interact differently... the miraculous circumstances of their first meetings (and reunions) and how they work for and against the other's goals and interests... but they keep coming back... their connection transcends right and wrong and everything they fight for (on both sides, or in-between) and they don't care. Or maybe they do care and therein lies the doom!

I don't think any of them are interested in trying to "fix"/"change" each other; they all know who/what they're dealing with at all times. They each represent completely different worlds, and when they come together, there's fascinating overlap (and clashing!) of perspectives, experiences, etc. Goodbyes are the hardest things without the guarantee of another hello... None of them are particularly clingy, so they part with a smirk and on the good faith that each of them will survive until their next meeting!

Our birthdays

I said it on my other ship chart post, but I really don't put a whole lot of time/effort into assigning them star signs; I just pick something that the gist of looks good enough and there we go! But as I've said I enjoy that Leon and Wesker are both Aquarians, and I think Capricorn suits Ada really well! I haven't really given their actual birthdays any thought (it's not really something that's important to me!), but maybe I will reflect more on it someday!

Our favorite colors

I delve into this more on their individual moodboards that I posted, but I think Leon really enjoys a good blue, darker in color, Ada of course, her trademark deep royal red, and Albert really anything dark and moody, though black and red do come to mind the most! I also just love using the animal emojis I associate with them (Leon the dog, Ada the butterfly, and Wesker the snake) whenever I can, heh heh...

I really love filling out ship charts for my favorite ships, and I wanted to put some additional thoughts and context for some of the choices alongside this one since it's the first Leon/Wesker one I've filled out! Ada isn't included in this because she comes and goes in the relationship as she pleases, and I wouldn't consider her and Wesker to be "romantically involved"; if it sounds complicated... that's because it is!

Trope(s)

Enemies to lovers: When Wesker and Leon do formally meet, it's definitely as enemies! Their temporary alliance forces Leon to put his allegiance to the US government on hold for a moment in pursuit of a cure for his condition. Knowing what he knows from Ada (and his own observations), Wesker is interested in having Agent Kennedy under his microscope, figurative and literal; he wants to see what all of the fuss is about! It's a long road from enemies to lovers, one that puts everything they are at risk... but only they would be able to tell you if it was worth it!
Doomed pairing: This one should be pretty obvious. Leon is good, Wesker is evil! They were doomed from the start! But that doesn't mean they can't set themselves up for a world of pain until everything comes crashing down!
Slow burn: With two characters as emotionally reserved as Leon and Wesker, I think any possibility of romance between them would have to be a slow burn. Neither are particularly impulsive and it would take a special kind of circumstance to get them to fall for someone!

Trust, Jealousy, Horny, Clingy

Wesker can always trust Leon to be exactly who he is. Ada said it best, after all: He's a good boy. Predictable. He can rely on Leon to always do the right thing, even at the detriment of his own life... which Wesker finds fascinating! Conversely, Leon never loses sight of the fact that he truly can't ever completely trust Wesker. There's parts of Albert that he's seen that nobody else has seen (not even Ada), but he ultimately knows what Wesker is and overall doesn't delude himself into thinking he can "fix him".

Neither Wesker or Leon are jealous people; they enjoy their solitude and know that work (and other complicated engagements) must always come first... even if it makes things difficult for one another, in more ways than one! As Wesker says, "There will be another time." Plans are cancelled, rescheduled, moved around, it's a fact of their lives. A reunion will happen eventually! As for their sex drives, neither have ever been particularly voracious, so their mutual enjoyment of their intimacy comes as a surprise to both of them... and Ada too!

As far as being clingy, Leon is moreso than Wesker, but that doesn't mean Wesker loathes the contact... he just won't ever ask for it first! Leon will greet him with a pat of his own thigh, a crooked grin and a "C'mere," to which Wesker finds himself yielding to more often than he'd care to admit! Leon has a way of flirting with him that doesn't make it seem like he's fawning or simpering (Wesker's words!); it feels like enjoyable banter, and not like suffocating amounts of attention... which keeps even someone like Albert coming back!

Star signs

I think a lot of star signs could suit both of them, but I just stuck with my instinct and decided to make them both the same star sign... Aquarians! At first glance, Leon and Wesker are objective opposites (good and evil respectively), but upon closer inspection I think they actually have a lot of similar traits! Both hold themselves to a high standard, valuing intellect, independence and wit within those they hold dear (like Ada!). Wesker and Leon have both been told they can be a little standoffish (intentional with the former, not with the latter!), but they fully immerse themselves in the throes of their goals (short or long-term) and definitely march to the beats of their own drums. Underneath those socially-strange veneers just might lay an emotional side that only very few are privy to!

While they have these similarities, their Aquarian differences are also definitely there too. Leon is very emotionally intelligent (though socially awkward), whereas Wesker's analytical mind tends to prevent him from seeing (or particularly caring) about the feelings of others. Wesker likes a partner that challenges him (I do not think he would seek a thoroughly submissive partner; sexual dynamics are another matter entirely) and Leon wants to feel a connection that will be with him for life!

How it happens

Like I said above, I think they both fall slowly and unintentionally. Neither of them were ever searching for romance, let alone with each other! Absolutely not at first sight! Both are slow to fall and approach it as completely casual, like acquaintances with benefits... but their feelings have other plans for them! Leon discovers and comes to terms with his own feelings first, and knows that affection for someone like Wesker spells trouble for both of them. Wesker resists it the longest, not wanting to acknowledge Leon's "affect on him"! Ultimately neither expect the other to change; they enter their little tryst knowing that this will someday have to come to an end... right?!

Relationship attitude

There's no big romantic flourish; to sum it up very quickly, I think Leon fell first, but Wesker falls harder. They obviously wouldn't ever be able to really be in public together considering their drastically different allegiances, but hypothetically, I think it would be Leon who would put an arm around Wesker... who might occasionally reciprocate by placing a hand on the back of Leon's neck! They would smirk at one another as one of them gets the door for the other (Leon giving Wesker's waist an appreciative rub or ducking under his arm with a playful smirk and toss of his hair... or if Leon held the door, Wesker humming in satisfaction and dipping his head down, purring a low, flirty Thank you in his ear), but generally speaking they would both be pretty "mellow" with any kind of PDA! Neither of them are into public grandstands of attention; affection and romance are better suited to their own private moments.

Boxes in the middle

• First to confess/first to kiss: Saving this for my longfic series... sorry! Hehe!


• First to apologize: Leon. Knows Wesker is way too prideful to apologize (usually!) and if he initiates the conversation, it's more likely to end on a better/more emotionally-productive note.


• Initiates contact: Wesker. Leon knows Wesker is very... particular about giving and receiving affection, especially early in their "relationship". Lots of observing and studying to learn to read mean old Albert and figuring out what makes him tick. Wesker leads, shows Leon what he likes and doesn't like, and then lets Leon take charge, tests him. Much to his chagrin, Agent Kennedy always passes with flying colors! The more time goes on, the more Wesker can trust Leon not to misstep, and both of them initiate contact fairly equally.


• Spoils the other: I think it's pretty safe to say that Leon and Wesker are in two entirely different tax brackets, so what spoiling means to each of them can vary. Wesker's perception is that most people enjoy receiving goods (though that doesn't mean he's a big gift-giver; you'd be lucky to receive a kind word from him, let alone an actual present!), so he gifts Leon a shiny new bike or a fancy watch! But really, the best kinds of gifts he "gives" Leon are things like cooking him dinner or watching his favorite movie with him. That's what Leon treasures most!
  
  Leon, on the other hand, is a lot more sentimental. Memorizes Wesker's food orders and orders him takeout when he's had a long day. Dedicates himself to attempting to truly know Wesker (something that Wesker feels very... complicated about), then doing things that he thinks Wesker will appreciate. Not that he'll ever admit it, but Wesker secretly enjoys it when Leon approaches him with a movie case and some greasy pizza with a "Got this movie that I think you'd like. Wanna watch?"


• Wakes up first: Always Albert. He never sleeps in! Conversely, Leon will take any chance he can to sleep in; work is exhausting, and the sleep he does get is often not so great. Prefers to just try and sleep on his off days... unless there's a certain bioterrorist who can rouse him from it with breakfast or the promise of a shared shower!


• Does the cooking: Wesker again! It's a practical science that requires good technique and precise instruction, which is why he enjoys it. He often makes whatever he personally wants, but Leon is all too eager to eat whatever he cooks up! Leon has a complicated relationship with food; he loved his mother's cooking growing up (they never got takeout), but after his parents died, it became too daunting of a task. He's always surviving on protein shakes, eggs and fast food until Wesker cooks for him again!


• Does the housework: They never live together, so they're in charge of their own spaces. Leon's apartment(s) always look as if someone is just moving in, or is about to move out; he doesn't partake in furnishing or decorating his home unnecessarily, often preferring if the apartments he's moved to for work come pre-furnished for this reason. The only "clutter" he has are his multitude of dvd cases on his entertainment stand! Wesker greatly enjoys interior design and his home(s) are always well decorated (no matter how temporary or modest they are!). Never a speck of dust or grime anywhere to be seen, very neat and tidy! Places always look very "lived in", even if he doesn't spend much time at them himself.


• Does the talking: The one who loves to hear himself talk of course... Albert! Leon is more on the quiet side, preferring to be the listener. He won't hesitate to chime in if he has things to say, but he mostly prefers being out of the "spotlight".


• The more popular: Not sure if this means in fandom or canon context, but either way I'm going to go ahead and say Leon. Everyone knows of the survivor of Raccoon City, rescuer of the president's daughter, Agent Leon Scott Kennedy! Whether Leon appreciates (or even cares) about his notoriety is another matter.


• The designated driver: No drinking necessary... it's [almost] always Wesker, which works out just fine for both of them anyway; Leon's in charge of the radio, aircon, and feeding Wesker any food they get while they're on the road!


• The better caregiver: Absolutely Leon. The more emotionally-intelligent and caring of the two, Leon may not have the greatest social grace, but he's very sensitive (absolutely not derogatory and certainly not a weakness. It's a good thing!). Knows when to push and when to yield. Neither of them particularly like being taken care of, but Leon's definitely the one who is better at it. Wesker is much more clinical about it, but he also knows what makes Leon tick and knows what will cheer him up if he's down in the dumps. However, knowing and doing are two separate things... who knows, maybe he'll even indulge him from time to time!


• The worrier: Poor Leon has a lot of stress on his shoulders at any given time (self-imposed or otherwise), but he doesn't worry about Wesker's well-being. He and Ada always find a way to come out unscathed from anything, and while Leon does care for them, he's not worried about their survival. They always seem to come out on top! And Leon will always oppose Albert's cause, no matter how attached to him he may become. Wesker also needn't worry about capable Agent Kennedy... especially not when he's the one pulling the strings of his opposition! It always thrills him to see Leon (and Ada) rise above adversity over and over again... even if it does meddle in with his own plans!


• "Excuse me, he asked for no pickles.": Neither of them are particularly meek or sheepish, so they have no problem sending their wrong food orders back. Leon will sometimes just shrug it off and say "Ugh, whatever," and eat it, but if Wesker's food is wrong, he will always politely - but directly - get it corrected.

Wesker is absolutely not someone who drinks to get sloppy... he thinks it's tacky! He typically has a glass or two of wine to enjoy with a good book or a documentary he's been putting off watching after a long day of being a complete and total menace! He's VERY picky about what kind of wine he likes and prides himself on its exclusivity and difficulty to obtain. You think you have it? Ha! Impossible! If you got him to talk about it, he'd definitely have an air of pretension about his preferences!

He never drinks in anticipation for/on a mission, and seldom ever drinks socially; he considers most social situations to be work of some kind anyway! If you hand him a drink, he'll idly (pretend to) sip it to be polite and 'blend in', but it's more of a prop than it is a... drink! In his STARS days, he would occasionally go out with the team for a few beers, but that was more for the sake of appearing trustworthy than anything else. It definitely wouldn't be his drink of choice! Generally speaking, I don't believe he's a huge fan of large gatherings either, but work is work!

Privately, however... he and Ada will meet up at one of his safehouses for a few glasses of wine and some gossip between missions, or he'll let Leon mix him a drink before settling into his cozy conversation-pit couch together for a Turner Classic Movie marathon! He really likes mixology too, it's the chemist in him! Most would fancy him the Bond type but I think he'd enjoy a variety of drinks! He has a very high alcohol tolerance and absolutely doesn't drink to get drunk/blackout. However, this doesn't stop a bit of a blush from appearing on the tips of his ears if you get sweet on him while he's had a few sips! Ada and Leon have noticed he'll even get a little "giggly" under the right circumstances..! Hmm hmm hmm!

Speaking of, I think a large allure of it would lie in the chemistry; the flavor profiles, the curation of expensive liquors and the science of mixing them and complimenting them with meals! He typically doesn't care for any that he doesn't buy or mix himself, though. If you mix him a drink, beware: he'll be very critical! Leon pays him no mind, giving him a toss of the hair and a roll of his eyes. Go ahead and bark, pedigree. Wesker always seems to be happy to finish the drink despite his griping!

Another huge part of it for him is the snack factor. There must be accompanying food with complimentary flavors! He knows his way around a charcuterie board and prides himself on the impressive spreads he makes! Ada and Leon enjoy them when they come around, too... whether they were invited to or not! Thanks, Wesker!

The virus(es) within him increase his appetite, so he's constantly eating. Mostly snacking! It's flexible and easy to do when he's on the go, which is almost always! Of course, he absolutely loves charcuterie and is very particular about the food he eats. He's often left in charge of dinner for the night, if Leon and Ada come around (and don't bring takeout for them all to enjoy)!

Speaking of viral effects, when he has something really delicious, his eyes will glow faintly for just a moment... so you'd better keep your eye on him if you're feeding him some of your best cooking! He'll give you some noncommittal compliment if he really enjoys it ("It's fine, thank you."), but the eyes never lie... those sunglasses just work overtime trying to hide it!

I really enjoy assigning animals to fictional characters as a means of exploring their characters. I've seen a lot of different choices for Wesker, so I thought I would add my own to the mix!
