weskennedyWesker is absolutely not someone who drinks to get sloppy... he thinks it's tacky! He typically has a glass or two of wine to enjoy with a good book or a documentary he's been putting off watching after a long day of being a complete and total menace! He's VERY picky about what kind of wine he likes and prides himself on its exclusivity and difficulty to obtain. You think you have it? Ha! Impossible! If you got him to talk about it, he'd definitely have an air of pretension about his preferences!
He never drinks in anticipation for/on a mission, and seldom ever drinks socially; he considers most social situations to be work of some kind anyway! If you hand him a drink, he'll idly (pretend to) sip it to be polite and 'blend in', but it's more of a prop than it is a... drink! In his STARS days, he would occasionally go out with the team for a few beers, but that was more for the sake of appearing trustworthy than anything else. It definitely wouldn't be his drink of choice! Generally speaking, I don't believe he's a huge fan of large gatherings either, but work is work!
Privately, however... he and Ada will meet up at one of his safehouses for a few glasses of wine and some gossip between missions, or he'll let Leon mix him a drink before settling into his cozy conversation-pit couch together for a Turner Classic Movie marathon! He really likes mixology too, it's the chemist in him! Most would fancy him the Bond type but I think he'd enjoy a variety of drinks! He has a very high alcohol tolerance and absolutely doesn't drink to get drunk/blackout. However, this doesn't stop a bit of a blush from appearing on the tips of his ears if you get sweet on him while he's had a few sips! Ada and Leon have noticed he'll even get a little "giggly" under the right circumstances..! Hmm hmm hmm!
Speaking of, I think a large allure of it would lie in the chemistry; the flavor profiles, the curation of expensive liquors and the science of mixing them and complimenting them with meals! He typically doesn't care for any that he doesn't buy or mix himself, though. If you mix him a drink, beware: he'll be very critical! Leon pays him no mind, giving him a toss of the hair and a roll of his eyes. Go ahead and bark, pedigree. Wesker always seems to be happy to finish the drink despite his griping!
Another huge part of it for him is the snack factor. There must be accompanying food with complimentary flavors! He knows his way around a charcuterie board and prides himself on the impressive spreads he makes! Ada and Leon enjoy them when they come around, too... whether they were invited to or not! The virus(es) within him increase his appetite, so he's constantly eating. Mostly snacking! It's flexible and easy to do when he's on the go, which is almost always! Of course, he absolutely loves charcuterie and is very particular about the food he eats. He's often left in charge of dinner for the night, if Leon and Ada come around (and don't bring takeout for them all to enjoy)!
Speaking of viral effects, when he has something really delicious, his eyes will glow faintly for just a moment... so you'd better keep your eye on him if you're feeding him some of your best cooking! He'll give you some noncommittal compliment if he really enjoys it ("It's fine, thank you."), but the eyes never lie... those sunglasses just work overtime trying to hide it!
