Mood Board: Leon Kennedy

I honestly suck at making moodboards but I had a lot of fun with these! Some minor elaborations below, as usual, going from top to bottom, left to right!

Animal

Leon the lamb, the sacrificial lamb! It's easy to assign him this symbolic role during-and-post-RE4(R), but I think it works to say that he's been one since Raccoon City. Sacrificed not as in killed - there are lots of ways for someone to "die". Leon endures what he does in hopes of securing a better future for those around him and all over the world, fighting bioterrorist forces head-on if it means even saving just one person. I don't think Leon is afraid to die, but he has immeasurable guilt about still being alive. Can't want to die, because he has a job to do, and he's one of the only people who can do it. He'll sacrifice himself over and over again if he can help people... This time, it has to be different!

Season

I think he loves the summer and spring; he'll always pick the heat over the cold! Leon doesn't have much time to daydream about vacations, but I think he'd be pretty easy to please; a nice tropical getaway sounds just fine to him! He's used to being cramped up in airplanes and hotel rooms when traveling on missions, so any chance he gets to have some fresh air (with some warm weather on his eternally-sore joints!), he'll take it! He'd love to lounge on the beach and get some well-deserved downtime!

Food

There's very little food that Leon doesn't like; he'll try anything once! He can make a mean protein shake or egg sandwich, but beyond that, he's an atrocious cook! So if you were grabbing a bite with him, he'd definitely direct you to a takeout place he likes before he'd cook for you himself. His favorite food will always be a cheeseburger or a hot dog, but he also has a soft spot for home-cooked Italian food; it was what he grew up with, after all! He hasn't had any home-cooking in years, until he discovers Wesker's penchant for cooking!

Movie

Leon loves noirs; they're his favorite genre of movie! He wouldn't be forthcoming with it, but he is quite the movie buff. His idea of a great day off is watching movies in his sparse apartment with the lights off, so that he can focus entirely on the picture. A favorite of his might be Laura (1944), an unconventional love story wrapped in mystery, moody and tragic, mysteries abound, fake deaths... right up his alley! I think he loves mafia movies as well, paying combination-homage to his enjoyment of the genre with his alternate costume in Resident Evil 4!

Plant

While Ada and Wesker's plants have magnificent blooms and unusual coloring, Leon's symbolic plant is the humble golden pothos; perseverance and longing are two traits that Leon seems to always be in service to, whether he likes it or not. Enduring his unique, largely unrelatable pain and how he feels it in comparison to the other bioterrorism survivors, he stands strong through it all... he would tell you that it doesn't come naturally, or easily. Leon finds himself in a state of longing at all times, in his professional, personal, and romantic lives.

Color

Blue is a natural choice for Leon; heroic, noble, trustworthy, but also glum and melancholy. Dependable, but with a tangible sadness about him, darker and more muted hues suit him really well!

Career

Government agent, member of U.S. STRATCOM, the legendary Raccoon City survivor... he's felt like he's lived so many lives, and sometimes feels like he's barely lived a life of his own at all. He tries not to dwell on it too much.

Place

It's hard for Leon to get attached to places for too long; he has very little care for his own apartment (which is always in a state of looking like someone is moving in or moving out)... bars or restaurants supply a small respite but even those he finds exhausting to be in for longer than a couple hours at a time. His favorite place to be is in his Jeep or on his motorcycle, driving just to drive; the fresh air and solitude helps clear his head.
